3-million-member United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, (UFCW) a powerful voice for working men and women, is seeking Organizers with various levels of experience around the country to give workers a voice in the workplace.
The UFCW is one of the most progressive unions leading the fight to build worker power in our workplaces, communities and the political and legislative arenas to insure that workers and their families participate fully in the rewards of the economy they help sustain.
General Organizers will be trained to probe worksites and establish workplace union organizing for UFCW's Cannabis program.
Key job responsibilities include:
engaging non-union workers in organizing campaigns, identifying workplace issues, developing worker committees, working with Union staff and community organizations, and conducting home calls.
Qualifications:
A demonstrated commitment to social justice work is required.
This is a full-time job with extensive travel requirements, irregular hours, and possible relocation.
A valid driver's license and the ability to drive a car are required.
You must live near a major airport.
In some circumstances, foreign language skills are required; bilingual English/Spanish and other languages is a plus.
