Manager, Bank Portfolio

Responsible for managing a taxable investment portfolio team/function and hedging process (interest rate and foreign exchange) including identification of risk exposures, trade execution and verification, and ex-post effectiveness for the Treasury group. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions. Develops the strategic plan and sets goals for the unit 1. Manages the Corporations taxable investment portfolio team/function and hedging process (interest rate and foreign exchange) including identification of risk exposures, trade execution and verification, and ex-post effectiveness.2. Ensures Compliance with all policies and guidelines (Board, ALCO, Credit, etc.).3. Conducts performance management and career development processes, provides input for staffing and hands-on training to staff.4. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity. 5. Develops periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work. 6. Participates in developing team?s strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met. 7. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.8. Consults with internal partners (operations, accounting, credit, legal, etc.) to coordinate issues related to the investment portfolio and balance sheet risks.9. Lead the establishment of improved hedging practices and comprehensive ALCO policy.
A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience for a financial industry in investments is preferred. Advanced degree and/or related Industry qualification is preferred Leadership and organizational skills are required to develop periodic goals and to manage and motivate team members towards the goals set. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of investment products, services, and terminology, usually acquired through experience and formal education, are needed to manage investments. Analytical and organizational skills are needed to analyze statistical information on investments. Highly flexible and adaptable to change. Technical skills / systems knowledge is required to utilize various spreadsheet applications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
