Senior Risk Analyst, Wealth Management

The Senior Risk Analyst position will be an integral member of the WM Risk team responsible for assisting in the development of and implementation of the Wealth Management and related fiduciary investment risk framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of an overall investment risk framework, collaborating with other risk partners to build on existing expertise.
Identify investment issues which pose significant risk to the WM Business Unit and advise management in developing policies and/or procedures that create the proper balance between risk and reward and aid in the implementation of and training around such policies.
Develop, analyze, and report on various risk metrics including stress testing and exceptions to senior management and various committees.
Proactively partner with members of the risk team and business units.
Assist in the design of a portfolio risk analysis methodology for discretionary managed accounts.
Interact with regulators, internal and external auditors and global compliance testing on regulatory topics as needed and appropriate.
Assist in the development of investment and fiduciary related policies.
Promote Northern Trust's risk management culture, and be able to represent the risk team to internal partners, including serving on various risk and BU related committees.
Bachelor's degree in Finance or MBA preferred.
CFA or pursing CFA is preferred.
Strong analytical skills (quantitative analysis) and the ability to communicate effectively; Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
5 - 7 years of professional experience in investments and risk management;
Knowledge of the wealth management industry with a focus on investment and fiduciary topics.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment;

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
