Head of National Sales and Strategic Partnerships

A senior sales and leadership position focused on developing strategic partnerships and national accounts relationships across covered channels within Intermediary Distribution.
FlexShares is Northern Trust's ETF brand, offering investor-centric ETFs specifically designed with real-world goals in mind with $16.5B in AUM. Northern Funds offer a broad range of investment capabilities, across traditional index, traditional active and quantitative equity solutions with $165B in AUM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibility for leading and building the framework for strategic partnerships / national accounts in the Intermediary channel.
Execute strategic distribution agreements that align with the broader Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) and the Funds and Managed Accounts Group (FMAG) strategy.
Drive distribution of NTAM products into models and platforms with targeted firms.
Gain NTAM product approval with targeted firms
Gain research coverage of NTAM products with targeted firms
Create and deepen cross-firm relationships with, but not limited to: Wirehouses, Independent and Regional B/Ds, (RIA) custodial firms, Insurance firms and Banks.
Working with sales management for both FlexShares and Northern Funds on firm intelligence, research reports, and conferences.
Providing key firm updates, strategic goals, and progress with the focus firms.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Highly commercial individual, with proven strategic business development, management and deal negotiating skills.
Superior problem solving and analytical skills; a creative thought leader.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Exceptional sales presentation skills
Demonstrated line managerial talent; able to motivate teams and inspire followership among directs.
Collegial team player able to form strong relationships within team and across groups at Northern Trust.
Deep knowledge of asset and wealth management.
Highly energetic, flexible, and motivated, with a commitment to excellence.
BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred
NASD Series 7, 24, and 66 (or 63 & 65) required
MBA, CIMA or CFA certification preferred
10+ years of management, direct outside intermediary sales and territory management experience with an ETF, mutual fund, separate account or hedge fund distributor
Proven understanding and implementation of competitive analytics and analysis
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with institutional calibre financial professionals and deliver relevant ideas and information that will generate sales and assets.
Proven, existing Strategic Partnership / National Account level relationships across key ETF distribution channels desired

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
