Client Service Manager, Asset Management

The key responsibilities of the role include managing a client services unit or function within Asset Management. This individual will be accountable for attracting and retaining investment talent, mentoring, and the performance management process. Participates in developing the strategic plan and manages the unit's expenses. Services Asset Management clients and prospects by responding to inquiries regarding products and services, implements and supports the client servicing plan. Develops plans to promote new or existing products and services. Collaborates with other business units to service our mutual clients.
Duties:
Manages associate group within Asset Management. Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards.
Determines staffing needs, making hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities.
Participates in developing the business unit strategic plan, and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure objectives are met.
Coordinates unit(s) budget and manages the expenses for the unit.
Develops and maintains key performance indicators for the business
Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment which encourages employee participation, teamwork, communication, and growth in investment acumen.
Oversees daily operations of client servicing and acts as the technical expert for determining the products and services to meet client needs.
Ensures consistency in process across the various Outsourced Chief Investment Officer practices.
Researches and analyzes complex client inquiries. Handles at-risk client situations offering support and resolution.
Develops plans to assist marketing efforts to promote new or existing products and services.
Ensures that staff is trained and updated on new or existing products and services.
Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of investments as well as business unit / function
As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level
Carries out projects and activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult
Oversees new client onboarding.
Coordinates all Risk/Compliance, Audit and Regulatory exam requests as well as business continuity.
Role is balanced between technical expertise in investments, high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
10+ years of client servicing & management experience.
Knowledge of Asset Management products and services, usually obtained through related work experience, is required in order to service clients.
Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the unit goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of the staff.
CFA preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
