Consultant, Client Services Investment Operations

A Consultant on the Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO) Client Service team has broad, in-depth knowledge of the business and acts as the first point of reference for day-to-day queries as well as serves as a liaison to related areas. The Consultant works on relatively complex, high profile activities and projects involving committees and/or senior management and may sometimes include the end-client. The Consultant focuses on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures, while building towards becoming an area expert. The successful Consultant operates under general supervision but works independently most of the time.
Major
Duties Operations Management
1.Provide best in class client service through the execution of daily functions and tasks as outlined in the Functional Task & Deliverable (FTD) list
2.Understand and enhance desktop operating procedures and controls
3.Provide timely response to queries and find resolution to avoid repetitive actions
4.Can work effectively both as a team member as well as an independent self-motivated individual
5.Capable of multi-tasking on complex tasks and projects
6.Able to cross-train on other functions leveraging the FTD list as well as provide back up
7.Serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to junior level employees
8.Able to identify opportunities for improvement within existing technology applications while acting as a liaison with Partner areas to drive resolution
Client Service Management
1.Independently build relationships with internal and client contacts
2.Expected to understand client's business needs and deliverables
3.Escalation point of contact for client issues or inquiries
4.Obtained advanced market knowledge
5.Understand current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that are directly related to job function(s)
Relationship Management
1. Establish, build & maintain effective working relationships with key partners internal and external to the organization
2.Drive the engagement of other partners as appropriate to solve client inquiries/issues
3.Understand impact of personal job function(s) on IOO peers and applicable shared services partners
4.Perform other responsibilities as assigned by your Manager
Knowledge/Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Knowledge of financial services, asset management and/or investment operations

Experience
A college or university degree and/or 4-6+ years of relevant work experience
Previous Financial Industry Operations, Asset Management and/or Investment Operations experience a plus
Previous exposure to business process and/or technology enhancement initiatives
Previous Client Service experience in a service oriented environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
