Manager Information Services

Reporting to the Technology Chief Administrative Officer, core responsibilities include focus on organizational transformation, development of key performance indicators, continuous improvement.
Lead a global team responsible for key aspects of Northern Trust's Technology practice including strategic planning, value optimization, metrics & reporting and enterprise release coordination.
This is a highly involved, hands-on leadership position for a candidate with a passion for collaboration, change, technology and driving team accountability. Conducts the performance management and career development processes, identify training and development needs, establish performance standards for the relevant groups and hold staff accountable to them. Initial focus will be to execute the technology workforce strategy, drive supplier rationalization efforts and collaborate with BU CIOs to develop enterprise release roadmap.
Demonstrable experience leading transformative enterprise initiatives, technology strategy, performance management, understanding and working knowledge of modern technology practices.
Ability and desire to lead a team to act as operational architects, guiding and contributing from strategy development to execution across technology functions.
Ability to analyze the effectiveness of existing processes and develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable improvements.
Excellent industry knowledge of value measurements, OKRs and reporting to drive decisions at all levels of practice
Ability to contribute and influence across technology functions to drive adoption and consistency of new initiatives and operational processes.
Applied project management skills in planning, sizing, effort estimates, tracking, and reporting on project progress.
Ability and experience in formal supervision, hiring/retaining, coaching, mentoring, and guiding of teams including identification and facilitation of training and development opportunities for staff to enhance knowledge and expertise, keeping up with the rapidly changing technologies used within the company and by the overall industry.
Excellent leadership, organizational skills and management skills, are required to meet goals.

Major Duties
1.Strategic Planning. Align and shape technology organization to support Northern Trust's business strategy. Lead technology organizational transformation and execute workforce strategy to right-size talent skills and costs.
2.Value for Spend Management. Determine resource needs and supplier ratios to support critical economic functions (CEFs). Evaluate supplier relationships to optimize on/offshore mix and contract terms in conjunction with procurement.
3.Metrics & Reporting. Lead development of key performance indicators and standard reporting to monitor financial performance, value for spend, capex and client satisfaction data
4.Enterprise Release Coordination. Define approach to maintain and centralize release plans from CIO organizations to develop enterprise release roadmap
5.Continuous Improvement. Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures to increase productivity and reduce cost.
6.Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
7.Conducts performance management and career development processes, provides input for staffing and disciplinary actions and provides hands-on training to staff
8.Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required / preferred.
General 12 - 15 years of experience in IT including:
Leadership role for large transformation initiatives
Project/Program Management experience
Financial domain experience ???Release Management experience is a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
