The Lead Product Manager is a senior business leader with global responsibility for the Investment Operations Outsourcing product line. Reporting into the Head of Product Management & Solutions, they are supported by product teams including subject matter experts, business analysts and product managers as needed, and are jointly accountable to the Head of Product Management & Solutions and the IOO Product Executive.
We are seeking a Lead Product Manager for our Investment Operations Outsourcing product. This broad based, leadership role will be responsible for a global product team. Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO) is a growing and strategically significant product in the bank's suite of services to institutional investment managers, with corresponding demand for a strong product management. The Global Product Lead for IOO works closely with executive leadership in Chicago, London and other regions. This is a multi-faceted role, requiring acumen in middle office trends and players, industry and institutional investment manager representation, C-suite engagement, team management skills, strategic program leadership, and in the application of a rigorous product management methodology. A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the fund services and custody business and a proven track record for managing products, building strategies, leading global teams, maximizing operational efficiencies and successfully boosting revenue and profitability.
Product Specific qualifications include:
Deep understanding of the institutional middle office market landscape and macro-level trends influencing asset managers
Experience implementing and maturing product management methodologies
Ability to cultivate and leverage relationships across the broader organization at multiple levels
C-suite communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage resources in multiple regions globally
Experience with business case preparation and oversight of capital on multi-year initiatives.
Minimum of 10 years in investment operations leadership roles, preferably including leadership of transformative strategic programs
Product Management Role:
Product management is tasked with focusing energies on five key disciplines:
Planning: Strategic and Tactical Product Planning & Development
Marketing: Promotional Communications, Sales Tools and Training
Sales and Distribution Channel Support
Financial and Profitability Management
Regulatory and Risk Management
Product Management designs and leads cross functional teams eg Sales, Product Development, Marketing, Operations, Client Servicing and Financial Management to help optimize the market position and performance of the products.
Responsibilities of the Lead Product Manager:
Responsible for management of product lifecycle and the issues that impact the delivery of capability or service
oDiscovery and Innovation: Derive market insights and formulate product strategy
oNew Product Planning: Concept, feasibility and definition
oNew Product Introduction: Development and launch of product
oPost-Launch Product Management: Performance & lifecycle management
Leads, motivates and cultivates a team of product managers to manage product group
Ensures the development and execution of product roadmaps with 3-5 year horizons that outline the strategic goals as determined and prioritized in partnership with the Product Executive and Business Stakeholders
Manages the alignment of the business strategy and objectives to the product strategy
Ensures reliability, performance, quality and robustness of the product group
Ensures that industry and market research is conducted on product viability and competitive threats and understand how they may impact product strategies
Assesses the investment needs (capital and expense) through understanding trends, client's needs and roadmap review and makes recommendations to the Product Executive and Business Stakeholders
Partner with Technology Lead to ensure recommended roadmap is feasible and aligns with corporate / C&IS technology strategy
Represents organization with thought leadership - product at industry events, in publications, and at client events
Establish, manages and monitor the financial and market progress of product group through metrics and key performance indicators
Understand the impact of new regulations on the business and how that may impact the business strategy
Serves as main product point of contact for sales teams, communicates new features and their value proposition, oversees RFI, RFPs and due diligence responses
Direct engagement with the sales process in representing the strategic significance of the IOO business, industry trends and the product roadmap
Oversight of the capital request and deployment in advancement of the IOO product
Proven business leadership skills, with track record of building products and /or understanding of the core concepts of product management required
Deep understanding or knowledge of the Asset Management and Asset Owner segment, particularly in middle office
Excellent communication skills as the role is highly consultative in nature
Proficient in constructing/overseeing logical and conclusive presentations, distilling complex subject matter into management-ready materials
Ability to understand and grow the strategic business vision
Proven track record of managing, leading, coaching and developing a team
Excellent in building key relationships, influencing and negotiating with clients, partners and leaders across multiple disciplines
Ability to demonstrate inclusion of risk and control parameters in daily activities
Display strong understanding of client needs and how this impacts the product development agenda / roadmap
Program or project management experience is advantageous; planning, analysis, design and governance

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
