Manager Cash Applications

Senior level manager responsible for leading the Cash IT applications group. This is a highly visible and strategic role. The Cash IT group is responsible for delivering a multi-year large-scale change program and for the care and feeding of a wide range of payments and cash management solutions across multiple technology stacks.
This includes working closely with the cash organization, both change and operations. You will also work closely with all levels of business and technology partners to implement and support key initiatives. You will manage professional staff and be responsible for right sizing the staffing needs to meet demands on the teams. Familiarity with high and low value payment systems, cash and liquidity management, and regulatory requirements, are all part of the job function.
This is an exciting time for the corporation and you will be a major part of the senior IT team to move the bank forward. Knowledge/Skills Requires excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong project execution and management skills.
Must be able to work effectively with all levels of staff and management in IT and business units and vendors. Leadership and organizational skills are required to develop goals and to manage and motivate team members towards goals. Prior experience in IT and managing full-time and consulting / offshore teams across multiple locations is required.
Knowledge of financial services industry and of payments and cash management processing is required.
Major Duties
The ideal candidate would be a seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise.
Major duties include:
1. Manages an applications division. Determines staffing needs, makes hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities. Develops and manages diversity programs and programs for the division
2. Participates in developing the business unit strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure that objectives are met
3. Consults with business unit partners to determine the most effective technology response to solve business problems or address business needs. May also work closely with business unit partners to define and review Service Level Agreements and to ensure services meet or exceed business needs
4. Directs systems projects, including project planning, management status reporting, systems specifications and implementation. May also implement and help identify measures to improve applications stability and availability, sustain and improve cost efficiencies and productivity gains
5. Reviews, negotiates, and maintains vendor contracts and makes recommendations for purchasing outside services
6. Communicates with various business areas and outside vendors, consultants, and clients regarding automation needs
7. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication
8. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
9. Establishes performance standards for the division. Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and career development needs
10. Develops risk management and compliance programs and activities for the unit
11. Ensures compliance with all audit requirements including change control procedures and data security. Ensures compliance of the cash IT area with regulatory requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience in financial services industry and understanding of payments and cash management systems required.
Knowledge of agile development practices and experience in execution using agile methodologies is preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
